ROBERT WIERZEL (Lighting Designer)
Robert Wierzel has worked in Theatre, Dance, Opera, and Museums with artists and directors from diverse disciplines and backgrounds, on stages throughout the country and abroad. Productions with opera companies of Paris (Garnier); Tokyo; New York City Opera; Glimmerglass; Seattle; Boston Lyric; Minnesota; San Francisco; Houston; Washington; Virginia; Chicago (including Lyric Opera and Chicago Opera Theatre); Toronto; Montreal; Vancouver; Florida Grand; Portland; Wolf Trap and San Diego among others. Theatre includes the musical Fela! (Broadway (Tony Nomination) and Royal National Theatre, London) and David Copperfield’s Brodaway debut Dreams and Nightmares. Regional theatre companies include: Hartford Stage; Roundabout Theatre; American Conservatory Theatre; Center Stage; Chicago Shakespeare; Guthrie Theatre; Long Wharf; Goodman Theatre The Mark Taper Forum and The Old Globe. Robert’s dance work includes 25 years with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. He will return to design lighting for BLO’s 2011 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
