Thank you to all who attended the 2008 Family Day at the Opera Benefit, which featured Hansel and Gretel, BLO’s opera for families and school children and was held Sunday, April 13, 2008 at John Hancock Hall in Boston. Before venturing into the forest with Hansel and Gretel, several families from the Metro Boston region joined BLO for a carnival of creative activities. Our annual benefit luncheon began with a kid-friendly buffet and hands-on projects that introduced some elements of the production, followed by the 1:30PM performance of Hansel and Gretel. All proceeds from the event supported Boston Lyric Opera's Education and Community Programs Department.
