Boston Lyric Opera’s Street Stage visits the historic Charlestown Navy Yard for a memorable afternoon of virtuosic music, maritime history, and stunning Boston harbor views in partnership with the National Parks of Boston. From the lawn of the 1805 Commandant’s house, audiences can enjoy an open-air concert of beloved operatic arias as well as music inspired by the sea. Stop by for a song or two between visits to ships and other historic attractions, or settle on the grass for a full concert experience. Alternating musical sets will start at 3:30PM and 4:30PM, interspersed with meet-the-artist interviews and other educational content.
This program is free and is recommended for audiences of all ages. Texts and English translations of the multilingual program will be provided on site.
Street Stage is supported by the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture and the City of Boston through the Neighborhood and Downtown Activation Grant. The 2024 Street Stage season is sponsored by HarborOne Bank.
