You’ll Never Walk Alone

By |2024-11-06T08:56:41-05:00November 4th, 2024|

Dear Friends of Boston Lyric Opera, Many of us are feeling a mix of emotions—whether it’s uncertainty, fear, hope, or anticipation for what’s to come. Up Next: The politics of Verdi’s Aida

By |2024-10-11T11:45:23-04:00October 11th, 2024|

By: Katy Lindhart In his long career, Giuseppe Verdi wrote an astonishing twenty-eight operas, based on diverse sources — from Shakespeare to Victor Hugo to real world history. Despite the wide variety of stories, many of his operas share common themes. The relationship between father and child, for instance, is highlighted in Don Carlo, Rigoletto, Simon Boccanegra, La traviata, and several others.
