Boston Lyric Opera’s Street Stage returns to Villa Victoria and Plaza Betances for an evening of music, poetry, and cultural celebration. This vibrant concert will take place outdoors in the heart of a community with a proud Latinx heritage, surrounded by stunning murals, a vibrant school, and housing won through community activism. The musical program will include a wide range of Spanish-language repertoire for voice and piano, alongside other opera classics. The evening will also include poetry readings by IBA youth program participants and Villa Victoria community members. Registrations are welcome but not required. Registrants will receive a reminder e-mail and notice in the event of schedule change due to weather. This program is free and welcomes audiences of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Remarks and lyric translations will be provided in English and Spanish.

STREET STAGE: WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!
Arrival
Arrive any time after 4:00PM. Space on the Plaza is first come, first served. BLO staff will be on site to provide programs and answer questions.
Seating
Folding chairs will be set up on site. You are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair if you wish. Please prioritize seating for Villa Victoria residents and anyone with accessibility needs.
Accessibility
Plaza Betances is fully wheelchair accessible, with ramp access. If you need any special accommodations, please email access@blo.org.
Weather
Street Stage will proceed in a variety of weather conditions, including direct sun and light rain. In the case of severe inclement weather (including strong winds), BLO staff will update our website with the new performance time. Register for the event to receive an e-mail with weather-related updates.
Public Transit
Plaza Betances is an approximately 10-minute walk from Back Bay (Orange Line) or a 14-minute walk from Copley Square or Prudential (Green Line). Plaza Betances is also accessible via the 1, 10, 15, 43, 504, 57, and SL5 bus routes.
Parking
The closest parking garage is LAZ Parking – 126 Dartmouth Street (8-minute walk). Limited street parking is available due to residential restrictions. Due to fire code, there is no parking in the Plaza Betances driveway loop.
Food & Beverages
Food and beverages are welcome on site, and we encourage you to bring water. There are several restaurants and cafes with to-go options within walking distance of the performance area. On-site alcohol consumption is prohibited.
Pets
Pets are welcome at Street Stage events but should be kept on a leash and cleaned up after.
