Boston’s beloved downtown park becomes an open-air opera house as BLO’s Street Stage returns to the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Enjoy a lunchtime concert of enchanting arias showcasing fan-favorite repertoire including selections from Carousel, Phantom of the Opera, Weest Side Story, Ragtime, and more. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to settle on the grass, or stroll by for a song while enjoying the sights of the city.

This program is free and is recommended for audiences of all ages. English translations of the multilingual program will be provided on site.

Street Stage is supported by the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture and the City of Boston through the Neighborhood and Downtown Activation Grant. The 2024 Street Stage season is sponsored by HarborOne Bank. This Street Stage concert was also made possible through the generosity of The Greenway BID.

STREET STAGE: WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO! 
 
Registration 
Registrations are welcome but not required. Registrants will receive a reminder e-mail and notice in the event of schedule change due to weather.  

Arrival 
Early arrivals are encouraged. You are welcome to come and go during the approximately 1-hour concert. Space on the grass is first come, first served. BLO staff will be on site to provide concert programs and answer questions. 

Seating 
Seating is available on the grass and on stone ledges on the perimeter of the lawn. You are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair. Chairs will not be provided on site.

Accessibility 
Rowes Wharf Plaza is fully wheelchair accessible, with ramp access to the lawn. If you need any special accommodation, please email access@blo.org.  
 
Weather 
Street Stage will proceed in a variety of weather conditions, including direct sun and light rain. In the case of severe inclement weather (including strong winds), BLO staff will update our website with the new performance time. Register for the event to receive an e-mail with weather-related updates. 

Public Transit  
The nearest MBTA stop is Aquarium (Blue Line). The Greenway is within walking distance of South Station (Red Line), Downtown Crossing (Red & Orange Lines), and Government Center (Blue & Green Lines). 
 
Parking  
The closest garages are Boston Harbor Hotel Garage, 30 Rowes Wharf, Boston MA 02110 and Boston Harbor Garage, 266 Atlantic Ave, Boston, MA 02110. Limited street parking is available. 

Food & Beverages 
Food and beverages are welcome on site, and we encourage you to bring water. There are several restaurants and cafes with takeout options surrounding the performance area. Partner food trucks will also be on site. Alcohol consumption at the performance space is prohibited.  
 
Greenway Farmers Market 
Following the performance, explore the Greenway Farmers Market, operating Thursdays through October 24th from 2:00-6:00PM. https://bostonpublicmarket.org/seasonal/   
 
Pets 
Pets are welcome at Street Stage events but should be kept on a leash and cleaned up after. 
 

What to bring:  
Here’s a suggested packing list!   

  • Lawn chair or blanket  
  • Sunscreen  
  • Hat, visor, sunglasses, personal fan  
  • Bug spray  
  • Water & snacks  
  • Masks (optional but always welcome) 

What NOT to bring/do:  

  • Smoking and vaping are not allowed at Street Stage events.  
  • Please do not actively ride a bike, skateboard, or Segway during the performance.  
  • Alcohol consumption on the Greenway is prohibited. 
  • Do not use beach umbrellas or other items that could damage the grass or obscure others’ view.
