Into the House of Usher: BLO’s Virtual Reading Room

BLO invites you Into the House of Usher to explore and learn about Edgar Allan Poe’s story and Phillip Glass’ opera. (Please note: The Fall of the House of Usher film premiered on BLO’s operabox.tv in 2021, and is no longer available to watch.) Engage where history and present day meet in this virtual reading room, and even add your own creative brilliance by contributing to our community short story. Can you discover all the mysteries this house has to tell?

How to navigate: Once you step Into the House of Usher you will have the ability to “walk” through the space by clicking on the footprints on the ground, or using a touch screen and swiping around. Click different items to see what lies just below the surface. Become fully immersed by selecting the three lines in the top right corner and selecting the “full screen” box. You can also experience this virtual world on your smart phone. Select the three lines in the top right corner, and de-select the phone rotation icon, to physically walk through your space to travel virtually in the Usher House.
