“I had my doubts when BLO announced that it’s fall Aida would be a one-night-only concert performance, but as I exited the theater I was cursing the fact that I couldn’t tell my friends to go see it. Michelle Johnson’s enchanting princess in exile, Morris Robinson’s earth-shaking and tyrannical Ramfis, Brian Major’s firebrand Amonasro, and Alice Chung’s frankly stunning role debut as Amneris would all have been memorable on their own, but together they made magic.”
