Role: Soldier – Male (supporting speaking role)

Production: In the Penal Colony by Philip Glass

Contract type: AGMA (American Guild of Musical Artists) contract, paying $1,000 per week (4 performances). AGMA has an open membership, therefore we welcome all candidates. You will have to become a member if you accept contract.

Role Description: Soldier – male (speaking, non-singing role) Ethnically open male who can portray a soldier in his 50s – late 60s, decent build; will be bare chested the entire performance. Must be 5’10” or taller without shoes. Beard and long hair are preferred, we are open to wigging, beard-ing, and aging an appropriate candidate. Must be comfortable with heights. Ability to project the voice is a must as this character will not wear a microphone. The Soldier’s performance is largely non-speaking (he has one line) so physicality/ability to work non-verbally is a must. He is level-headed, cool, and strong.

Dates: Rehearsals from October 19 with performances on November 11, 12, 14, 15m, 2015.

Role: Kivowitz – Male (supporting speaking role)

Production: The Merry Widow by Franz Lehar

Description: Kivowitz – male (speaking, non-singing role) Ethnically open male, open to talent of various ages, who can portray an adult who is an Orderly in the Pontevedrian Embassy in 1914. Ability to project the voice a must, as this character will not wear a microphone. Kivowitz is a comedic character – sense of comedic timing is a must. Experience in period work a plus.

Dates: Rehearsals from April 4, 2016 with performances on April 29, May 1m, 4, 6, 8m, 2016.
