Boston Lyric Opera’s Street Stage makes its East Boston debut with a free all-ages concert during Eastie Week 2025. Experience virtuosic performances in an oceanside amphitheater surrounded by stunning views of Boston Harbor. Want to stay for the day? Enjoy cultural and recreational activities nearby, from free sailing and kayaking at the Piers Park Sailing Center to the Institute of Contemporary Art’s annual Block Party!

This program is free and welcomes audiences of all ages. Playbills with texts and English translations of the multilingual program will be available on site.  

Street Stage is supported by the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture and the City of Boston through the Neighborhood and Downtown Activation Grant.  

 

 

STREET STAGE: WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!  
 
Arrival  
Arrive any time to enjoy the park and Eastie Week activities before the 3:00 PM concert. BLO staff will be on site to provide programs and answer questions.  

Seating  
Seating is available on the open grass and surrounding shady areas. You are welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair. A limited number of seats will be provided on site. Please prioritize seating for anyone with accessibility needs.  
 
Accessibility  
Piers Park is wheelchair accessible. If you need any special accommodations, please email access@blo.org.  
 
Weather  
Street Stage will proceed in a variety of weather conditions, including direct sun and light drizzle. In the case of severe inclement weather (including storms, strong winds, and extreme heat) BLO staff will update our website with the new performance time. Register for the event to receive an e-mail with weather-related updates. 

Public Transit   
Piers Park is an approximately 10-minute walk from Maverick Square (Blue Line). 
Transport by Water Shuttle is also available between the ICA and Watershed location nearby (learn more). 

Parking   
There is limited free parking along Marginal Street and in the Piers Park parking lot. Please check signs for resident-only restrictions.  

Food & Beverages  
Food and beverages are welcome on site, and we encourage you to bring water. On-site alcohol consumption is prohibited.   

Pets  
Pets are welcome at Street Stage events but should be kept on a leash and cleaned up after. 

What to bring:

  • Water & snacks  
  • Lawn chair or blanket  
  • Masks (optional but always welcome)
