Join us on select dates after Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel for a community post-show talkback! Following the performances of Carousel, Boston Lyric Opera will host a moderated conversation with artists and community members on the Golden Age of Musical Theater as an American Operatic tradition and the challenges and joys of producing Golden Age musicals in 2025. Talkbacks will take place in the house following curtain call and last approximately 25 minutes. Nature has inspired generations of composers to write songs celebrating its wonder, lamenting its decline, and playfully imitating its creatures great and small. In honor of Earth Day, Boston Lyric Opera musicians present a lively concert and conversation exploring how composers and performers translate their experiences of nature into song.   Noah’s Flood is based on a 15th-century play recounting the story of one family’s resilience in the face of an earth-shattering storm. Composer Benjamin Britten wrote this opera just a few years after experiencing a devastating flood in his own coastal town. Nearly 70 years later, climate resilience has taken an even greater spotlight.  Under the baton of David Angus and in collaboration with Boston Children’s Chorus, Boston String Academy, Back Bay Ringers, Boston Symphony Orchestra, New England Conservatory Preparatory School — and more — hundreds of Boston area youth alongside BLO artists will come together to bring you a timely, tour-de-force event.
