Opera Night at the BPL   Composer Julia Perry's Revolutionary Music   March 21, 2024    6-7PM   Visionary Black composer Julia Perry (1924-1979) was a revolutionary artist whose groundbreaking operas, symphonies, and choral works innovatively combined musical idioms of the African diaspora with 20th century European techniques. Join Boston Lyric Opera for Opera Stories, an interactive performance of Cinderella for all ages, but best for kids aged 5-12. Learn how we bring the story of an opera to life through music, acting, and movement. In this dynamic, 45-minute presentation, two professional singers, a pianist, and a teaching artist engage audiences in this interactive introduction to opera.
