Digital Ticket FAQs

We are excited to announce a new level of convenience and security for your tickets! Digital tickets are a contactless way to deliver tickets directly to your mobile device using a mobile wallet. This offers a safe and easy way to receive, manage, and share your tickets with guests while reducing the ability for stolen or counterfeit tickets. No more stress over misplaced tickets, how to print at home, running out of ink, and no apps are required.

General Digital Ticket FAQs

Digital ticketing is a convenient, secure, contactless, service that delivers your tickets to your mobile device using rotating QR codes. Your QR codes will activate 24 hours prior to your performance start time and will refresh every 30 seconds. Digital tickets use rotating QR codes, so you know you have a valid ticket and reduce the ability to counterfeit tickets and resell them.

Digital tickets provide you with an easy and safe way to receive and share your tickets with friends and family. No more stress over how to print at home, running out of printer ink, or misplacing your tickets. Your tickets are always available in your digital wallet.

All sales are final. No refunds. This ticket is a revocable license subject to all terms, conditions, and policies established by Boston Lyric Opera (BLO), and this license may be revoked without refund for noncompliance. Any conduct deemed by BLO, in its sole discretion, to be disorderly, disruptive, or unsafe shall result in automatic termination of the Holder’s license. This ticket does not authorize resale without BLO’s prior express consent. Tickets obtained from unauthorized sources may be void. BLO reserves the right to suspend orders suspected of fraud and hold tickets for “Will Call” pickup (valid photo ID and credit card required). Exchanges may be made up to 48 hours prior to a performance for a different date or production within the current season. Exchanges are free for current BLO Season Ticket Holders; non-subscribers incur a $10 per order fee. If you cannot attend, tickets may be donated to BLO for a tax deduction (return physical tickets at least 48 hours pre-performance). Premium Seats (AA Zone) exchanged out of Opening Night forfeit access to Opening Night events, and price differences are non-refundable. Every guest requires a ticket. Unauthorized photography, recording, or transmission of performances is prohibited. Holder grants BLO permission to use their image/likeness in event-related media. Discounts apply only to new orders and cannot be applied retroactively. Prices, performances, dates, and times are subject to change without notice.

No. In order to keep your tickets safe and secure, printouts and screenshots are not accepted and cannot be scanned at the door.  Once activated, the QR code on your digital ticket(s) updates every 30 seconds, and can only be scanned directly from your mobile device.

As a safety measure, the QR codes will not be visible on your tickets until 48 hours before your performance start time. Your QR code for your digital tickets will automatically appear in your digital wallet at that time.

No problem! If you accidentally elected digital tickets as your delivery method, don’t worry. While digital tickets require a smart mobile device to access your tickets, if you don’t have a smart mobile device, you can contact our Boston Lyric Opera Ticketing Services Team at 617.542.6772 or email boxoffice@blo.org to arrange to pick up your printed tickets at Will Call.

No problem! Simply go to the box office at the venue and we will print out your tickets. You will need to show a valid ID that matches the name on the ticketing account

You can now add your digital tickets to your Apple Wallet.  Google Wallet does not yet support rotating or dynamic QR codes.
